Detaily pro: Snow Rose Trail

Krátký popis

This 10 km long path with 7 stations offers beautiful insights into the wondrous nature. Adorned with snow roses, the path is especially beautiful to walk between December and March. The Snow Rose Trail is ideal for families who enjoy hiking in magnificent nature. It mostly follows existing paths and includes the two characteristic landscape parts Ybbstal and hill country as well as the protected landscape area and the town center of Kematen. Visitors can look forward to a varied hiking route in a beautiful setting.

Popis

The family-friendly hiking trail is divided into a total of six stations. The starting point and thus the first station is the Kematen an der Ybbs municipal office. The varied hike leads through the characteristic Ybbstal with its many beautiful spots directly on the Ybbs and over gently rolling hill landscapes with an impressive view of the Sonntagberg. After about 25 minutes, you are already rewarded with the delicate scent of the splendidly blooming snow roses (station 2), which line the edge of the path in their thousands between December and March.

Along the Ybbs there were formerly numerous mills. One was the Grubmühle (station 3). Today, unfortunately, only the last remains testify to a long past.

Continuing towards Abetzdorf to station 4. Now a little over halfway reached! Upon arrival in Abetzdorf, a small break with culinary delights and Mostviertel drinks is recommended: Bachler-Wirt and Ferdl-Most look forward to your visit.

Well strengthened, the hike continues back into the legendary time of Mostviertel legends. According to legend, the turning stone on Kreuzstöcklberg (station 5) was dragged away several times and placed in distant locations.

Each time, however, it was brought back to its old place by a mysterious force. Today, the turning stone waits to be spun around its axis with a single swing. Whoever succeeds will be lucky!

Moreover, the route also passes the mysterious story of the heath girl in Kröllendorf, who freed the lady of the castle of Kröllendorf in the pitch-dark night.

The last part of the hike leads back to Kematen to the 33-meter-high stone bridge (station 6), which is thus the highest stone bridge in Lower Austria.
