From the highest mountain in the Mostviertel to the largest natural swimming lake in Lower Austria. And further along the nostalgia railway into the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park. The Ybbstal Alps live.
Already the first meters downhill from Lackenhof present a magnificent natural spectacle in the forest. Parallel to the water—more precisely the Ois—it goes to Lunz am See and with a detour to the Schloss tavern along the lake. Back in the town of Lunz it goes towards Pfaffenschlag, where a rhythmic, not too steep climb winds along the creek through the valley. Partly directly beside the rails of the Ötscherland Express, it goes swiftly down to Gaming, where the charterhouse can be admired along the Erlauftal bike path.
Next follows the section with the most forest of the round through the Ötscher Tormäuer Nature Park parallel to the Erlauf. Past some beautiful bathing spots, the altitude meters of the round await up to Raneck. Slightly descending, you later reach the idyllic Lackenhof at the foot of the Ötscher, which towers high above the small town.
