This panoramic circuit is best done with an e-bike but is also suitable for ambitious cyclists looking for a short but challenging route. The route leads to Kollmitzberg, located between Amstetten and Ardagger.
From afar, the pilgrimage church of St. Ottilie on the hilltop - the worthwhile intermediate destination of the route - is visible. Once at the top, a 360° view invites you to enjoy and linger. The view extends from the Alpine range over the Danube region to the Mühl and Waldviertel areas.
Note: The bike route is signposted in both directions and can also be ridden the other way around.

Route description Kollmitzberg bike route
Starting from the Ardagger Abbey, the bike route gently descends to Ardagger Market, then continues flat for several kilometers along the Danube. After that, the steepest section of the route leads up to the Ottilienkirche Kollmitzberg, culminating in a stunning panoramic view far beyond the Danube.
From Kollmitzberg, it rolls comfortably to Viehdorf and then somewhat hilly back to the starting point at Ardagger Abbey. The bike route is marked with the sign "Kollmitzberg-Radroute" and a dark blue color bar on the sign as well as on the map material.
Attention: partly steep descent sections.
Exit the Westautobahn A1 at Amstetten-West and take Greiner Straße (L119) to Ardagger Abbey.

Arrival via Amstetten train station with connection to the Mostbaron bike route towards Dingfurt or Viehdorf.
