The panoramic cross-country ski track on the Hochreit, a lovely plateau near Göstling, is also known under the telling name "bacon snack track". Because in addition to the meticulously groomed cross-country ski tracks, idyllic pasture landscapes and the great fortune of usually being above the fog line, there is also a culinary reason attracting cross-country skiers to the Hochreit: On all six different tracks – between 2 and 7 km long – you pass a farmhouse with a warm parlour perfect for regenerating and relishing the delicious perry and tasty snacks.

Everything a cross-country skiing centre must have

The epicentre of the cross-country skiing centre Göstling-Hochreit is the "Ablass" farm run by the Zettel family. There are plenty of parking spaces, changing rooms, a ski rental and a winter playground for children complete with bobsleigh and wave runs. Furthermore, the premises have a night cross-country ski track available daily from 6 to 8 p.m. by prior arrangement that is groomed for both classic cross-country skiers and skaters.
