Popis trasy Weißenburgrunde
We start from the parking lot in the town along the federal road eastwards, 500m towards the town's end, to the 2nd Natters bridge. Here we go left over the bridge and over the railway crossing. Then we follow the gravel road slightly uphill. After about 1 km it passes to the right of an old house (Wieden). Here we turn right, where the hiking trail then leads uphill through the forest. After about 15 minutes we reach a meadow, where the path then goes down to the right.
Upon reaching the driveway, we go 200 m left to the Unter-Grua farmstead, then the hiking trail leads right through forest and meadow to the Annakreuz. Here we can still go 500 m down a forest road to the entrance gate of Weißenburg.
We then go back along this forest road to the fork to Gasthaus Schönau/Schwarzenbach station. We walk down this forest road for 10 minutes. There is an opportunity to rest at Gasthaus Schönau. From there, it goes slightly uphill again to the Leiten and Meierhof farmsteads. At Meierhof we reach a gravel path and go through the forest to the federal road and then walk back for 10 minutes to Frankenfels.
Along the B39 towards Mariazell to Frankenfels. In the town, we turn right following the sign "Station".
