Straußenhof Ebner

In 1994, the Ebner family started their ostrich farm with three ostrich chicks, which they have since increased to 16 laying ostriches and several fattening animals. The majority of Austrian ostrich breeders have specialized in meat production. The Ebners have focused on egg production since the beginning. They transform the ostrich eggs into true works of art, from lampshades to openwork eggs. Each lamp is unique and is produced on their own farm. They are "the address" for empty and full ostrich eggs, e.g. for a party or an ostrich egg dish. Tourism has also become a sideline, as guided tours are also offered on the farm.

Buses and groups are very welcome. Individuals can take a guided tour every first Saturday from May to October at 2.00 pm.

The tour includes: Guided tour of the enclosure, ostrich egg liqueur tasting, ostrich egg dish (ham, cheese, bread etc.), short film about ostrich farming in Austria, product presentation (leather, feathers, eggs etc), ostrich boutique etc. In the ostrich boutique you will find specialties around the ostrich!
