Schloss Wolfpassing

Popis

Wolfpassing Castle was given its current appearance by Count Ferdinand Auersperg in the middle of the 18th century. The castle itself is a stately four-storey, four-winged building with five-storey round corner towers with pointed conical roofs, a two-storey arcaded courtyard and a baroque chapel.

The property, which had been imperial property since 1834, was used as a remontenanstalt of the Imperial and Royal War Ministry and as a convalescent home for officers. Purchased by the state in 1910, it was used again as a military hospital during the First World War, and from 1929 was run as a federal educational and research institute for dairy farming.

Today, the castle is home to a cozy farm café with a farm store.
