1. Dirndltaler Dirndlmanufaktur & -destillerie - FuXsteiner KG

Company / plant tour

Description

At the mountain farm, in the first Dirndl distillery and manufactory, the 1st Pielachtal Dirndl Queen Melanie Fuxsteiner explains everything you need to know about the coveted fruit. The fiery red wild fruits of the yellow dogwood bush, Latin Cornus Mas, have a lot to offer and are used as chutney, jam or schnapps.

The small fruit, which is also popularly known as "Dirndl", was not named after the entire valley for nothing. The use of Dirndl has a centuries-old tradition here, with 400 to 1000-year-old Dirndl wild shrubs being cultivated by the FuXsteiner family in cooperation with the Pielachtal farmers for generations and their fruits being refined into a variety of delicacies. The most popular products include Dirndl jam, Dirndl syrup, Dirndl balsamic vinegar, Dirndl cream honey, Dirndl jelly and Dirndl brandies and Dirndl liqueurs.

Josef and Melanie Fuxsteiner are also ÖTSCHER:REICH producers who carry the Mostviertel cultural heritage in their hearts and are always keen to pass on culinary delights to their guests.
