Description
A wonderful "spot" of meadow Wienerwald up to Stössing. We hike along region-typical isolated farms between idyllic orchards, pastures, and dense forests.
This route from Hegerberg to Stössing leads us on a well-developed forest road through a magnificent beech forest where we can enjoy the peace and freshness of our beautiful woods. Afterwards, we hike from the Unterhegerberger farm through the scenic surroundings of Stössing down to the main road. This descent along an asphalted farm road is constantly accompanied by wonderful views of the Stössing valley, to the "Gut Solleneck" in the north and the opposite Schönberg. The last 2 km are on the low-traffic state main road back to Stössing. For the ascent from Stössing, the hike via the former monastery and today’s seminar hotel Refugium Hochstrass or the hike via the Stollberg is recommended.

Route description From Hegerberg to Stössing
From the Johann Enzinger Shelter on the Hegerberg, we hike down the Hegerbergstraße towards Stössing. At the first farm, the "Oberhegerberger," we turn left and walk directly beneath the property along a gravel road. Accompanied by robust pear trees, the path leads us between meadows and pastures into the forest. Pleasantly downhill, our well-developed trail meanders through the beautiful, fresh beech forest to the "Unterhegerberger" property. Passing between the farm buildings, we now reach the asphalted Freiling farm road, which gently slopes down to the Günsbeck property and crosses the Stössingbach creek to the state main road. We keep to the right downstream and reach the center of Stössing after about 2 km. Here, two inns, a general store, and the long-established butcher provide refreshments.
