Route description Pielach Klause 7/5
Easy hike to the Pielach Klause and back.
The start is the town center of Schwarzenbach. Head south along the street. At the gas station (BIOLAND), take the right street past Haslaustube and continue past the former ISBARY sawmill.
We leave the path to Geißenberg Alm to the right, and also leave the path to the Wooden Church to the left, continuing along the main road.
Now follow the road all the way, also leaving the "Kowald" property to the right. At the end of the street, cross a wooden bridge to a parking lot. From here, take the forest road on the right along the Pielach. After some time, a forest road crosses the Pielach to the right, but here we keep left and continue to the Klause.
The return journey is the same way.
Directions
On the B39 towards Mariazell, turn left after the Gasthof Schönau (Frankenfels) towards "Schwarzenbach/Türnitz" and follow the road all the way to Schwarzenbach.

Mariazellerbahn to Schwarzenbach stop. Note that the center of Schwarzenbach is about 6 km from the stop. Taxi to the town center is possible with prior telephone booking (0664 103 30 15).
Author's tip
In the summer months, another hike to the source of the Pielach is also possible. From September to March, continuing beyond "Dem Kurzen" is prohibited due to the wildlife protection zone.
