Description
From Göstling, a short stretch on the Ybbstal bike path towards Lunz to the intersection at Kögerlwirt. From there into the Steinbachtal - an asphalt road next to the stream, you quickly immerse yourself in a wild romantic atmosphere. After a few flat kilometers, you reach the starting point of the Owl Trail:
The Owl Trail leads to the end of the Windischbachau valley and is an experience for the whole family. Remarkable facts about the five owl species occurring in the Dürrenstein wilderness area: eagle owl, northern hawk owl, tawny owl, long-eared owl, and sparrow owl - are presented along the trail at eight stations. The scenic charms as well as the structures of the second Vienna high spring water pipeline also make a visit worthwhile. The path runs partly on an asphalt road, then along a forest road, on foot or by bike.
