Details for: Radeln for Family - St. Pölten, Route 1a to Herzogenburg and back
Brief description
Out of the city – into nature! Along the Traisen Valley cycle route to Herzogenburg with its abbey. It's best to plan a stop at Ratzersdorf or Viehhofner Lake!
Description
A few meters through the city and you are already on the Traisen Valley cycle route, which runs northwards always right next to the water out of the city. Passing the football stadium, the Ratzersdorf and Viehhofner Lakes offer the first worthwhile destination after just a few kilometers with playgrounds, mini golf, bathing facilities and of course an ice cream from the lake kiosk. Either right now or on the way back, it is worth planning some time here.
The route itself continues along the Traisen Valley cycle path to Herzogenburg, a small town with a wonderful abbey and an almost British flair and garden. The special feature is also the many gravel benches along the route - time flies by!
