Details for: Radeln for Family - St. Pölten, route 1b to Traismauer

Brief description

Along the Traisental cycle path, past the St. Pölten lakes and Herzogenburg to Traismauer, and from there back by train. Wonderful swimming opportunities along the route.

Description

A few meters through the city and you are already at the Traisental cycle path, which runs northwards always directly beside the water out of the city. Past the football stadium, the Ratzersdorfer and Viehhofner lakes offer a first worthwhile destination after just a few kilometers with playgrounds, mini-golf, swimming possibilities and of course an ice cream at the Seedose.

The route continues on the Traisental cycle path via Herzogenburg, a small town with a wonderful monastery and an almost British flair and garden. What is special are also the many gravel benches along the route - time flies by on the way to Traismauer, from where you can easily take the train back to St. Pölten.
