Brief description

Beautiful round route to the mountain village of Windhag in Waidhofen. Great views.

Description

Impressive medieval defense towers, romantic and spacious alleys form the unique backdrop for an unforgettable stay in Waidhofen an der Ybbs. The town has a long and successful history behind it. Enviably high quality of life and wealth are based on the time when good business could still be done with iron from the Erzberg. Those who venture from the old town out onto the heights of the Mostviertel will gain an incomparable view of this gem. Today, the cultural diversity of the town is vibrant and makes Waidhofen the cultural center of the Mostviertel. Since 2007, the Rothschild Castle, renovated by Prof. Hollein, has housed an exhibition on the theme of the 5 elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.
