5-Elements-Museum

Museum

Description

Discover the history of the city and the toys world from then!

The 5-Elements-Museum in the Rothschild Castle in Waidhofen proves how exciting history can be. In addition to the city's eventful past, the Mostviertler Spielzeugwelt is also waiting to be discovered by young and old.

Earth, metal, fire, water and wood

The five elements have left their mark on the city. They have left their mark on the landscape and everyday life of the Eisenwurzen region. The 5-element exhibition invites visitors to "grasp" history and track down archive treasures in the exhibition depot.

Toys with history

The toys world on the 2nd floor of the museum immerses visitors in the fantasy of children in various "worlds". A moving look into the everyday life of families from Waidhofen and the surrounding area during the interwar and post-war periods. A special highlight: the dollhouses of the Kaltenbrunner Collection, most of which are handmade and lovingly designed, showing various life situations.
