Badeteiche Hößgang
Swimming site / lake
Description
The Hössgang bathing ponds, which are located in Neustadl on the Danube below Jochenstein, were created by dredging and are free to visit. The recreational area, with its numerous opportunities to enjoy the natural surroundings, is located in the Granit-Greisgebirge bio-region of the Bohemian Massif and is therefore part of the central low mountain range ecoregion.
With a shoreline of around 30 meters and excellent water quality with a temperature of around 27 degrees, the bathing ponds have created a magical spot for relaxation and leisure. Surrounded by woods and undeveloped meadows, the pond area invites visitors to relax and unwind. Showers and toilets are available on site, as well as the opportunity to enjoy refreshments at the Hössgang bike buffet - even if you are not on a bike.
You can also get a fishing permit for the ponds and look for a quiet spot where you can pursue your hobby in peace and quiet.
If you have cooled off enough, you can visit the nearby Silberluckn, the former silver mine in Neustadl or the Nadlingerhof, the adventure museum with wine tavern in the Vierkanthof - entertainment guaranteed.
