The variety in the show garden of the non-profit project fairwurzelt (3000m² cultivated under controlled organic criteria) includes numerous native plants: herbs, spices, berry bushes and summer flowers. The harvest is processed into various herbal products and the product range is extensive: herbal teas, spice blends, herbal salt, salad seasoning, soup seasoning, pesto, chutney and relish, bath salts.
The products are also available as company gifts, wedding presents, birthday surprises or Christmas presents with suitable packaging to meet very specific customer requirements. The organic herbal products are available from the farm in Afing, from the office in St. Pölten, Kremser Landstr.66, or from various resellers.
fairwurzelt is a non-profit employment project for women to re-enter working life, funded by the Lower Austrian Public Employment Service and the province of Lower Austria. The job-seeking women are employed for three to six months under market-oriented conditions in the herb garden, in organic herb production and in garden maintenance. In addition to the practical work, the employees receive socio-educational support and help in their job search. fairwurzelt's 24 years of existence show that this social commitment brings good results.
"Fairbessern und fairmitteln" is the slogan: "Under fair conditions, we improve the women's skills in the areas of social competence, manual skills and specialist knowledge and help them enter the job market," says the project manager, explaining the play on words.
