Description

The proud Falkenstein near Frankenfels rises 720 meters into the air: the popular vantage point is a well-known paradise for climbers thanks to its exciting rock faces on the north-west side. But hikers and MTB fans also get their money's worth here.

The three-part, varied Falkenstein wall reaches heights of up to 80 meters. Due to its size, the challenging wall of gray limestone is considered a landmark of Frankenfels - and attracts climbers of all levels with its climbing gardens and adventurous rock formations. The Falkenstein also offers numerous beautiful hiking routes.

On the summit plateau, a summit cross welcomes guests whose ascent is rewarded with a magnificent view over the Natterstal valley. Unique excursion destinations and welcoming inns and accommodation providers - such as the particularly family-friendly Sunnseit'n Biohof - characterize the entire region.

Accessibility for hikers
Several hiking routes lead to the summit of the Falkenstein - such as the Pielachtal Railway Hiking Trail or the Great Pielachtal Circular Hiking Trail 652. A real insider tip, especially for families, is the scenic Frankenfelsberg circuit.

Extra tip: The fantastic Eibeck circuit for mountain bikers is also perfect for a detour to the Falkensteinmauer.
