Kapelle Krausenöd
Church
Description
The chapel stands on the highest point of the Gallows Hill, framed on three sides by old trees. The front elevation shows smooth, white flaps and door frames and a gable top projecting 15 cm all around; the gable surface is adorned with a niche with a reverse glass image of St. Christopher. The archway shows the year of construction. 19 IHS 37 The altar table is fitted into the curve of the rear wall. In addition to the statue of the Virgin Mary on the altar, there are also several prints behind glass on the side walls. The tiled gabled roof forms a hip at the back due to the small curve.
It is not known for certain whether a gallows once actually stood on the hill, which is called "golgenbüchl" in the 1751 version.
In 2020, the chapel was completely renovated by the Aigner/Soxberger family and blessed by Father Florian Ehebruster during a May devotion on 9 May 2021. The chapel has become a real gem and a spiritual enrichment for the entire population of Biberbach - a resting place for the soul - in the difficult times of the pandemic.
