Karin and Raimund Metz have been passionately running their organic pumpkin farm in Haag, Mostviertel, since 2000. Over 150 different pumpkin varieties now grow in the fields - from the fine Patisson and the popular Hokkaido to butternut and a variety of ornamental pumpkins.
The farm also has its own oil press, where rich, cold-pressed organic oils - including linseed oil and rapeseed oil - are produced all year round. Many of the products have already won awards. The range is complemented by delicious specialties such as nibbles, pumpkin seed pesto and pumpkin chutney, all of which are processed with high-quality raw materials and the utmost care.
The products are sold from the farm, in many farm stores, through resellers and at markets and trade fairs. The individually designed gift boxes are also particularly popular - ideal for companies and private customers alike.
In addition, the organic pumpkin farm is a school-on-farm operation and invites groups to visit the farm with tastings by appointment. There is also plenty of innovation: an AI-controlled hoeing machine has recently been installed to support the cultivation of the pumpkin fields - a step into the future of sustainable agriculture.
