Museum im Ledererhaus Purgstall
Museum
Description
Visit the Ledererhaus and experience the individual work processes of leather production! From the early 17th century until 1956, the tannery can be traced back to the building on the Erlauf river with its rich sgraffito on the façade. The individual processes of leather production are on display - from the hide to the precious leather.
In 1997, a sensational find was made in Purgstall an der Erlauf. A burial ground from the Carolingian period was discovered. The highlight of the exhibition in the museum is the faithful reconstruction of the grave.
The impressive ambience on the banks of the Erlauf invites visitors to linger and relax.
