The birthplace of the famous painter Oskar Kokoschka shows the life and works of the artist in special exhibitions.
The Oskar Kokoschka House is the birthplace of the world-famous painter, who was born here on March 1, 1886.
Every year in the summer months from May to October, the Oskar Kokoschka House hosts the successful summer exhibition organized by the Oskar Kokoschka Documentation Pöchlarn, which is conceived by the Kokoschka Center of the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and put together using both its own holdings and loans from public and private collections.

In 2025, the Kokoschka Museum Pöchlarn invites you to a show about Oskar Kokoschka's decades of work as a teacher and his intensive preoccupation with educational issues. The exhibition spans a wide range from his first teaching experiences shortly after completing his studies to his great successes as a teacher in the late 1940s and 1950s.
Arrival by car:
A1 direction Melk - exit Pöchlarn (Exit 90) - Manker Straße to Regensburger Straße, turn right there - parking opposite the OK Haus
Public transportation:
By train to Pöchlarn station - walk about 10 minutes - Bahnhofstraße - Rüdigerstraße - Regensburger Straße - or better: about 15 minutes through the town.
It's also right on the Danube cycle path!
