Pfarrkirche Inzersdorf

Church

Description

The current parish church of St. Peter the Apostle (June 29) with a single-nave, three-bay nave and a single-bay, polygonal exterior and semi-circular interior choir was built between 1741 and 1742. Only the medieval tower has been preserved in its old form.

The chancel, which is decorated with late Baroque illusionist illusionist architectural paintings, is remarkable. The depictions of St. Benedict and St. Scholastica are a reminder of the church's former affiliation with Kleinmariazell. Some high-quality late Baroque Stations of the Cross originate from the school of Kremser Schmidt.
