Description
The Scheibbs Ceramics Museum exhibits Art Nouveau and Art Deco objects and expressive art ceramics from Scheibbs. The "Heyberg Hammer" stood on the site of today's museum as early as 1550 and was converted into an iron factory for wagon axles and cast iron around 1860/70. From 1924 to 2004, the building housed the ceramics production. All of the approximately 2,500 objects on display were produced here.
The annually changing special exhibitions can also be viewed with a guided tour by prior arrangement.
Special exhibition 2025 "Heads up"
In the special exhibition "Heads up", the Ceramics Museum shows ceramic heads that were modeled, fired and glazed in the "Heads" project of the Scheibbs Sports Middle School under the artistic direction of Juliana Guger. In a second section, the museum shows heads by well-known artists who were created in Scheibbs or have a special connection to Scheibbs.
