Stadt Haag Zoo

An animal delight! The 33-hectare park at Schloss Salaberg is home to the Haag Animal Park - one of the most beautiful recreational areas in Lower Austria. Around 70 native and exotic animal species (around 700 animals) populate the near-natural park, which offers relaxation, a change from everyday life, impressive animal observations, knowledge transfer and fun for children.

The observation of the big cats, brown bears and Bactrian camels is impressive. Interested visitors can also look forward to large animal enclosures for baboons, tigers and alpine ibexes, and a family of meerkats also call Haag Zoo their home. The adventure playground offers many play and skill stations.

The Birner Adventure World will open at the zoo at the start of the Lower Austrian Provincial Exhibition in 2026. This will provide children with an additional 450 m2 of sensational indoor playground. A great addition to the Birnerlebniswelt is also a museum area with a presentation of rural life in years gone by.
