Wallfahrtskirche 'Maria Steinparz'

Church

Description

It is no longer possible to determine exactly when the Maria Steinparz place of grace came into being. The construction of the first chapel was not prompted by apparitions or reports of miracles, but by the existing silence and seclusion. However, various answers to prayers certainly contributed to the increase in popularity.

The interior of the church contains a gilded neo-Gothic high altar by the sculptor Kapplinger from Ottenstein. The centerpiece is a picture of the Virgin Mary with child painted on coarse canvas.

The exterior of the pilgrimage church was renovated in 2007. The population celebrated the completion of the work in the form of a festive church service, which was celebrated by Prelate Josef Wansch and Pastor Zenon Pajak. It is thanks to the cooperation of many people that this popular pilgrimage destination can shine in a new light.
