Details for: Parapluiberg route

Brief description

A route from the town center in Nußdorf ob der Traisen to the Parapluiberg, into the hinterland and back. The challenging mountain climb up to the elevation is richly rewarded.

Description

A route from the marketplace in Nußdorf ob der Traisen over the high-lying hinterland and a detour to the Parapluiberg, then back. The path leads into the small, forest-surrounded villages Ried and Theyern, then over a wooded ridge into the Traisental vineyard landscape with an impressive view from the Parapluiberg into the Traisen and Danube valleys. At the destination, the 4,000-year-old vine culture of past and present can be explored in the prehistoric museum Nußdorf/Traisental and at the Heurigen, winemakers, and hosts of the region.
