Description
The hut of the AV-Sektion Amstetten, which is also easily accessible with strollers, is located near the Hirschkogel and not far from the border between Upper and Lower Austria. The mountain hut is 50 years old and is ideal for hiking in the summer, when guests stop for a break at 922 m they are spoiled with traditional home cooking: hut chef "Sherpa" is known for his dumpling specialties and delicious roast pork.
For seminar and overnight guests there are 30 sleeping places available at the Amstettner Hütte. In winter, the hut is a popular destination for tourers and skiers in the Forsteralm ski area.
Opening hours: 29 April to 26 October (Thursday to Sunday & public holidays), in winter when skiing is in operation.
