Gasthof Pitterle

Tavern / inn

Description

Traditional Mostviertel inn cuisine and lots of chicken that goes into the soup pot or is made into crispy fried chicken: At Gasthof Pitterle in Kilb, the Sulmtal chicken sets the tone in terms of taste. The innkeepers Rosa and Engelbert Pitterle humorously refer to their inn as the fried chicken station in the Mostviertel. A lot revolves around poultry here, but not everything. Game and pork also often find their way into the kitchen. The roast fallow deer from the restaurant's own hunting grounds is prepared with the utmost care. Traditional bread dumplings and a hearty, spicy red cabbage are the perfect accompaniments. Alternatively, guests are served stuffed breast of Duroc pork. Light and vegetarian dishes round off the menu.

Flying high with beer, chicken and game specialties

Culinary delights are not only served inside the rustic-looking Gasthof Pitterle - sophisticated dishes are also served in the garden under the lime trees. What's more, it can sometimes happen that a helicopter flight is suddenly heard instead of a convivial chat. But this is more of an attraction than a disturbance. In addition to helicopters, excellent pub food and a good dose of hospitality, it's the beers served here that are the talk of the town. In 2019, the inn was named Lower Austria's top beer pub of the year by "beer pope" Conrad Seidl. Final tip: the comfortable rooms with infrared sauna are a very cozy place to spend the night.
