Description
The family-friendly Gföhlberghütte is located in the vastness of the western Vienna Woods at 885 m just below the summit of the Gföhlberg. It is considered a flagship in terms of eco-construction and is located on the Austrian Cultural Trail as well as several other long-distance hiking trails and mountain bike routes.
The large natural playground with playhouse and climbing wall also make the Naturfreunde hut near Hainfeld an interesting place for families. The highest wild service tree in the Elsbeer region grows around the hut. Showers are available at the ÖKO hut and the power supply is provided by a photovoltaic and wind power plant.
Opening times: all year round at weekends and on public holidays
