Ötscherschutzhaus

Lodge / hut, Tavern / inn

Description

The Ötscherschutzhaus (1.418 m) is located directly at the mountain station of the double chairlift Großer Ötscher and is a popular stop for mountain lovers and skiers. The tenants Walter Zeilberger & Hanni Griesser spoil their hut guests with regional delicacies depending on the season. For the overnight stay (80 beds) a hearty breakfast is offered. Members of alpine clubs enjoy a reduced price.

Situated in the Ötscher-Tormäuer Nature Park on the Great Ötscher (1893 m), the refuge is very popular as a starting point for hikes and paragliding flights. The ÖTK shelter, which was opened in 1887, can be hiked to on many trails; alternatively, the double chairlift Großer Ötscher can be used.
