Tonis Bier- und Weinstube

Tavern / inn

This business is excellent…

  • Lower Austrian inn culture

Description

Wine on beer, that's my advice. Beer on wine, don't do that. Or vice versa? At Tonis Bier- und Weinstube in Kilb in the Melk district, guests are happy to get to the bottom of this question. Kerstin and Markus Bürgmayr-Posseth are on hand with help and advice. The two innkeepers have been running the family business, which stands for authentic tavern cuisine, since 2014. The cozy dining room is characteristic of the house. A historic tiled stove forms the centerpiece. The parlor is affectionately referred to as "the living room in the village inn". In the summer months, the quiet garden next to a stream is a real attraction. In addition to day-trippers, it is the locals and families who like to stop off at "Toni".

Beer, wine and pub charm

The menu in Toni's beer and wine bar offers the best of Austrian cuisine. Yes, it's the usual protagonists that set the tone. The baked pork schnitzel or the stewed onion roast from Angus beef. A Lower Austrian classic is the Blunzn-Gröstl with potatoes, sauerkraut and horseradish. This does not go unnoticed by attentive readers and, of course, guests: Toni's food is hearty. And that's a good thing. Large portions, high quality meat and vegetables and a strong pinch of hospitality make the inn one of the most enjoyable addresses in the Mostviertel.
