Blacksmithing has left its mark on Ybbsitz like no other guild. The Schmiedemeile impressively brings visitors closer to the iron craft and its tradition.
The Schmiedemeile, just under eight kilometers long, has become a backbone around which the town and its residents orient themselves. Between the Kleine Ybbs, the foothill hills, the stately farms in the north, and the Prochenberg and Maisberg in the south, lies a land that thrives on the authenticity of its economic situation and past and draws strength and charm from the intertwined natural and working world. The wonderfully designed adventure hike is dedicated entirely to the art of blacksmithing and also offers a wide variety of nature, including an adventure bridge, cave, and waterfall. A journey from today to the past and back again.

From the town center, follow the signs for "Schmiedemeile" (brown signs). "Milestones along the way:
On the return journey, the Schmiedemeile takes a detour via the "Tannhäuser Steig" to the Tannhäuser Cave, where the "Tannhäuser" – a knightly figure – has his home. The loop is just over 1 km long and first leads over a goods road and forest road, later over a narrow forest path before reaching the state road again. This section can also be shortened directly via the state road.
