Perchtoldsdorf (from parish church) or Wien-Rodaun (tram line 60) – Parapluieberg (Franz Ferdinand shelter) – Teufelsteiner-/Kammersteiner hut – Kugelwiese – Seewiese – Wildegg – Sittendorf – Heiligenkreuz – Mayerling – Maria Raisenmarkt – Holzschlag – Weißenbach or Furth

Leírás

The path starts in Perchtoldsdorf at the parish church and leads via the Pfarrer-Karl-Seemann-Promenade into the Föhrenberge Nature Park to Parapluieberg (Franz Ferdinand shelter, 01:15 h). Through open deciduous forests, it continues from there past the Kammersteiner hut, Kugelwiese, and Seewiese – past Wildegg Castle – to Sittendorf (03:00 h). Via the Füllenberg dairy farm, you reach the motorway underpass, behind which lies the cemetery of Heiligenkreuz. From the cemetery, you soon reach the baroque Calvary Hill of Heiligenkreuz Abbey, from which you can reach the abbey in a few minutes (01:30 h). From the abbey, you finally reach Mayerling (01:15 h). From Mayerling, paved and field paths lead to Maria Raisenmarkt. Then continue through the forest to Holzschlag (02:00 h) and over the Peilstein house and Neuhaus Castle to Weißenbach on the Triesting (02:30 h). Take the turnoff to Furth at the town center and walk just over a kilometer along the country road to the Gh Bruthenne.

Vienna-Rodaun variant: In this variant, you start from Wien-Rodaun (final stop tram line 60) via Schillerpromenade into the municipality of Perchtoldsdorf and go – past the forest sanatorium – to Perchtoldsdorf Heath. At Parapluieberg, you meet the ascent coming from Perchtoldsdorf.

Wien-Rodaun (from Vienna):
Vienna public transport, tram line 60 - final stop Wien-Rodaun.
