Wooden Ski Museum St. Aegyd am Neuwalde

Múzeum

Leírás

Our wooden ski museum is the latest addition to our museum mile. You can travel back in time to the pioneering days of skiing in the St. Aegyd Wooden Ski Museum and take an exciting journey through a century of skiing history in Austria. It's hard to believe that skiing was virtually unknown in Austria until the 1890s. It is a private museum that is run by the St. Aegyd Culture and Museum Association and is located very close to the local museum (about 100 m). We would like to invite you to explore skiing in the district of Lilienfeld in particular. You will gain interesting insights into skiing - from Matthias Zdarsky to the legendary Göller races (... the entire national team of the time was represented!) and the Nordic competitions around the natural ski jump in St. Aegyd.

You will gain interesting insights into different techniques, bindings, clothing ...

The owner will also be happy to show you around the exhibition by appointment. Simply call the telephone number 0664/73575938 or 0554/9235840.
