Brief description

Scheibbs – Lueggraben – Ginselberg – Ort – Brunn – Schlag – Neustift – Scheibbs. 

Route to the highest mountain of Scheibbs with magnificent views of Ötscher and surroundings.

Description

Ride along the Erlauf to Neustift, from there into the wooded Lueggraben and further uphill to Ginselberg and Ginselhöhe, the highest elevation of Scheibbs. Pass the farms Ort, Brunn, and Schlag with great views of the impressive Ötscher. Then downhill and through Neustift back to Scheibbs to the starting point at the train station.

Route description Ginselberg route

From the start of the route at the overview panel at the train station parking lot, continue towards the train station, just past it and further along Lastenstraße. After a left and right curve, you reach the Erlaf promenade and continue straight onto Strudenweg. At the end of Strudenweg, turn right into Lueggraben. From there, the route continuously climbs; at the end of Lueggraben, turn left onto the service road towards Ginselberg and Ginselhöhe. Shortly before Ginselhöhe, turn left at the hairpin towards Ort. Relatively flat, continue to the farms Brunn (turn right there) and Schlag (turn left there), then downhill through Heyrathgraben. At the bottom, turn left towards Neustift, before the Neustift bridge turn left again and immediately right into Strudenzeile. Straight back to Scheibbs to the starting point at the train station, taking the same route from the Lueggraben branch as on the way out.

Directions

A1 to the Ybbs exit, on B25 via Wieselburg and Purgstall to Scheibbs (Scheibbs Mitte exit). At the roundabout, take the first exit on the right towards the train station. Long-term parking available at the train station. In the city center, short-term parking zone (with parking meter for 2 hours).
