Route description Waterfall trail

The route begins at the valley station of the Muckenkogel chairlift. The path leads along the lift track to the Kolmer Waterfall with its remarkable rock basin. The upper rock ascent has 2 ladders and 2 crossings, which are well secured with a railing. From there, the waterfall path continues along the Kolmsteig, which leads to the former Kolm monastery inn. Connecting paths from the Kolmsteig lead to the Small Waterfall and to the Lilienfelder Hut. (Connection possibility to the Lilienfelder circular hiking route – blue marking). The return path is also recommended via the waterfall trail, which leads back to the starting point, the valley station of the cable car.

Directions

A1 exit St. Pölten South - direction Mariazell - follow the B20 to Lilienfeld - after the Lilienfeld monastery turn left and always keep left past the monastery - follow Klosterrotte street - then right to the valley station of the Muckenkogel chairlift

Suitable only for experienced and sure-footed persons. It is advisable not to leave the marked paths. Beware of falling rocks!
