Amstetten
The slogan "Amstetten - pulse of the Mostviertel" does not come from just anywhere: Amstetten is not only the district town of western Lower Austria and the administrative and economic center of the Alpine foothills and the Mostviertel. Thanks to its extraordinarily favorable location, Amstetten is also an important Austrian rail and road transport hub. Both the express trains of the ÖBB and the Westbahn as well as the direct connection to the Westautobahn underline this.
Amstetten is also the gateway to the Danube, the magnificent Ybbstal and the Gesäuse. There is plenty of shopping fun to be had in the City Center Amstetten. Cozy and well-kept restaurants, cafés, pastry shops and pubs invite you to linger in the city. Thanks to the Johann-Pölz-Halle, Amstetten is also a center of cultural life: theater, ballet, opera and concert performances are regularly held here. The Amstetten Musical Summer is an annual highlight.
