Herzogenburg
Herzogenburg - a "town with quality of life"
Discover, experience and enjoy the diversity of this town and the Traisental-Danube region.
The municipality of Herzogenburg - in the heart of Lower Austria - offers a rich program for those seeking recreation and especially for culturally interested visitors.
Be it a hike through the beautiful Traisen floodplains or the picturesque vineyards around Herzogenburg, a bike tour along the Traisen or an excursion to one of the numerous wine taverns.
For sports enthusiasts, there is the Anton-Rupp leisure center with its extensive facilities. The Aquapark adventure pool offers refreshment on hot summer days (mini golf course).
In the winter months, the town's artificial ice rink - located by the skating rink on the Auring - is also a great place to visit. The Kraftwerk bouldering hall, where climbing courses are offered, is particularly popular.
Culture is also very important: from exhibitions in Herzogenburg Abbey, in the cultural center in the Reither-Haus Herzogenburg, in the Schupfen Gallery and the Farmers' Museum in Hameten to concerts in the Anton Rupp Leisure Center and in the halls of the abbey, the Reither-Haus houses the tourist information office and the Traisental wine store located directly on the town hall square, where cafés and restaurants spread Mediterranean flair in summer - the ice cream tastes particularly good here. Private rooms and a 3-star hotel invite you to stay overnight in Herzogenburg - and there are now also 4 camping pitches next to the Anton Rupp leisure center.
The highlight of the event program is the NÖ. Children's Summer Games, which attract over 15,000 visitors to Herzogenburg every year on the last two vacation weekends.
