Ruprechtshofen
Ruprechtshofen - the community to feel good in!
Idyllically situated in the wide valley of the Melk river, the well-kept market offers its visitors peace and tranquillity in the rural Mostviertel.
Ruprechtshofen is a residential and recreational community with a high quality of life and an intact environment.
A wealth of interesting sports, cycling, hiking and riding opportunities as well as the proximity to the Wachau and Ötscherland offer visitors a varied program.
From the history of the village:
The village got its name from St. Rupert (Ruprecht). Finds and excavations from Celtic and Roman times bear witness to an ancient settlement area long before the village was first mentioned in a document in 1200.
The legend of the "Schergen-Brünnlein" tells of the raids of the Hungarians at the time of Leopold III, the saint who hunted in our village.
In the Middle Ages, the important Zinzendorf family had its ancestral seat in Zinsenhof (today a vegetable-growing experimental facility).
