Traisen

Traisen is located at the intersection of the scenic Traisental cycle route with the Triesting-Gölsental cycle route and on the traditional Via Sacra pilgrimage route to Mariazell.
The roots of the settlement date back to the 11th century. Traisen is an important industrial location: Malleable castings have been produced here since 1844. Today, around 900 people are employed in two foundries.

Worth seeing: the modern Roman Catholic parish church with the mighty 14th century crucifix from the pilgrimage site of Annaberg.
Three monuments commemorate the sporting successes of world champions from Traisen - Rudolf Schmidseder (alpine skiing), Karl Proisl (canoeing) and Rupert Hollaus (motorcycling).
