Wölbling: a wine-growing community with a long history
Many stone witnesses tell of the centuries-old history of the municipality: the pillory on the market square dates back to 1583. The parish church of Oberwölbling - a stately late Gothic stepped church - offered the inhabitants protection as a fortified church during the Turkish invasions. The interior of the late Gothic church in Unterwölbling features beautiful details such as a picture of the famous "Kremser Schmidt" on the left side altar. The Oberwölbling military cemetery commemorates the last difficult weeks of the Second World War.
