The museum with 10 exhibition rooms is located in the Renaissance town hall of Neumarkt/Ybbs, which once served as the "Windhagerisches Mauthaus". On display are two well-equipped school classrooms from around 1900 with teaching aids room, head teacher's corner, old certificates and catalogs.

It also contains an old cinema, a shoemaker's workshop, a grocery store, "grandmother's" kitchen from 1920, a collection of banknotes and coins from 1800 onwards and a motorcycle collection. You can also see 4 skeletons from the Bronze Age (1800-1500 BC) with grave goods!
