The Mostviertel Mountains

At the summit – completely at one with oneself

Visitors are constantly amazed at just how mountainous the Mostviertel is in the south. The Mostviertel mountains – such as the Ötscher, Gemeindealpe, Dürrenstein and Hochkar – reach heights of just under 2,000 metres and offer magnificent panoramic views.

Challenging mountain hikes, as well as a number of family-friendly walking trails, invite you to explore the unspoilt natural landscape. The summer mountain cable cars at Ötscher, Hochkar, Annaberg, Gemeindealpe and Muckenkogel also make it easier to reach higher altitudes and often serve as the starting point for further hikes.

Immerse yourself in the rugged mountain landscape of the Alpine Mostviertel.
