This four-flower-rated farm is located in the beautiful Mostviertel region, in the small town of Oberndorf an der Melk, just 20 minutes from the Ybbs or Loosdorf exits on the Westautobahn (A1). The market town lies at an elevation of 302 meters above sea level and offers many opportunities for day trips.
From the Straußenblick vacation apartment, you can enjoy a direct view of the enclosure housing the South African flightless birds. The farm is home to a wide variety of animals that love to be petted: chickens, rabbits, cats, cows, calves, and the goats Mekki and Zieglinde.
Here at the Straußenhof, visitors can expect a diverse experience for the whole family. During an exciting farm tour, young and old alike will learn interesting facts about the world’s largest bird and can even feed our ostriches themselves. You can find the dates for the summer vacation tours online on our website.
Other highlights on the farm:
- Creative Workshop (filled with farm-themed crafts made from ostrich eggs)
- Tasting Corner (featuring specialty products such as ostrich egg liqueur, ostrich egg liqueur chocolate, and ostrich egg pasta)
- Craft Room (ostrich eggshell necklaces and much more)
- Playground for our younger guests with farm-style golf, rubber boot toss, egg race, sack race, and much more
- Terrace with a view of the ostrich enclosure
