Description
A cultivated tavern culture, traditional values, an exquisite selection of wines, ciders and beers - at Gasthof Teufl, whose roots go back to 1589, a lot comes together. Martin Teufl's inn in Purgstall an der Erlauf is located next to the church. So it goes without saying that only heavenly dishes come out of the kitchen. Since 1986, guests have been offered mainly seasonal cuisine. The succulent and perfectly prepared roast wild boar is stuffed with mushrooms and nuts. It is flanked by potato dumplings and chestnut red cabbage. Gasthof Teufl recognized the signs of the times early on. Meatless dishes can be found on the menu from A to Z. Tip: The vegetarian stuffed peppers with natural tomato sauce and parsley potatoes are in tune with the times.
Devilishly good cuisine
The grand finale at Gasthof Teufl is provided by the desserts. Home-baked, stylishly presented and served with charm: The fluffy and devilishly good cream slice is in a league of its own. This is an age-old recipe from grandmother's time. The 400-year-old wooden ceiling in the guest room also embodies tradition and history. A little lower down, in Teufl's vaulted wine cellar, 480 different exhibits are stored. On request, guests can combine the menu with an impressive wine pairing. If you don't want to eat at the inn, you can pack up: soups, salads, stocks and classic dishes are available to take away. A good piece of tavern cuisine awaits you at home.
