Hiking tour Starting from Giant beer barrel in Kartausenpark Gaming
GeBIERgsweg Gaming - the beery hiking experience
GeBIERgsweg Gaming - the beery hiking experience
Along the Gaminger GeBIERgsweg village trail, 18 stations provide interesting facts about this “liquid gold,” which was even recommended by Hildegard von Bingen and Paracelsus for restoring and strengthening health. “Beer is a divine medicine against illness,” as Paracelsus put it.
Featuring a variety of interactive stations and plenty of tips, the GeBIERgsweg offers a welcome change of pace for interested hikers and beer fans alike.
A giant beer barrel, a hop trellis, a barley field, a viewing platform, and a yeast sculpture make the GeBIERgsweg an eventful and exciting hike. At two beer stations, you can print out a voucher for perks from Gaminger GeBIERgsdorf partners!
Sturdy footwear and small change for the beer fountain ;-)
The starting point of the path is a giant beer barrel in Kartausenpark, which, fitting to the region, was designed from iron by the Ybbsitz blacksmith Franz "Joe" Wahler.
The path leads past the ring wall of Kartause Gaming, further to the Kartausenblick and the Kalvarienberg. The castle pond is also a worthwhile stop, until you can refresh yourself at the well-stocked beer fountain at Weiglteich – naturally with Kartausenbräu and Erzbräu from the two Gaminger breweries. Organic juices from the region are healthy thirst quenchers for the little ones and can also be found in the perfectly chilled fountain. And how about a snapshot? At the photo point by the fountain, you have the opportunity to do so!
Besides the extensive "KRÜGERL-RUNDE" (6 km, walking time 2 hrs.) described here, there is also the shorter "SEIDEL-RUNDE" (3 km, walking time 1 hr.) to choose from. The starting point is also the giant beer barrel in Kartausenpark. If you want to go a bit "higher", then the Erzbräu on the Grubberg is a worthwhile destination, and after 9 km you truly deserve a hearty sip.
