Gippel - Hofalmüberquerung

Hike from Zögernitz via the Treibsteig and Ursprungkogel to the Gippeltürl. Here, you can take a detour to the Gippelalm, which is open during the grazing season (May through September), via the left-hand, gently sloping trail (about 10 min). From the Gippeltürl, take the marked trail on the right over the mountain ridge to the summit cross. From here, continue past the Pollwischalm, over the ridge of the Gamsmauer to the highest point of the Hofalm, the Schnalzstein. From here, a connecting trail leads southward to the Hofalmhütte, which is also open during the grazing season (approx. 10 min). From the Schnalzstein, follow the trail markers to the Waldhüttsattel, then turn right onto the steeply descending trail over the Schwarzkogel to the Michelbauern. From there, walk about 1 km along a narrow road to the Gasthof Gnedt in Kernhof.
