At the nordicsports academy in St. Aegyd, you can rent cross-country skis for both classic and skating styles.

The trailhead is right next to the former Gnedt Inn at Kernhof 2. It is signposted from the B 214 main road. Route

The KERNHOFERLOIPEN are directly connected to the St. Aegyd–Kernhof cross-country ski trail and, consequently, to the Panorama trails.

The Kernhoferloipen are located directly below the Gippel and therefore offer a breathtaking view of the summit.

A stop for refreshments along the way or afterward at the “Zum Niederhaus” inn (Perthold family), 3193 St. Aegyd, Markt 9, T 02768/2212, as well as at the Holzhof with Herzerl-Mitzi, 3193 St. Aegyd, Weißenbach 83; T 02768/6146, perfectly rounds out this unique winter experience.

From St. Pölten, take the B20 to Freiland; from there, take the B214 toward Marizell. After 32 km, you’ll arrive in Kernhof.
By public transportation:
Take the train from St. Pölten to Lilienfeld, then take the bus from there, or take the bus directly from St. Pölten to Kernhof
