From the large parking lot on the bypass road, cross the B 20 and hike into the Sulzbach Valley. At the trail junction, turn left toward “Sattelbauer and Feuchten.” Continue toward “Kneschen.” Before the large meadow, turn left toward Paulinenhöhle. Descend in switchbacks toward the cave (with views of the Türnitzgraben and Eibl from a rocky outcrop on the left). A short detour to the Wackelstein is possible. Be careful at the cave entrance! Cool, narrow, slippery. Interesting limestone conglomerate deposits (proper caving gear required from this point on!). From the entrance, descend toward the road. Keep right toward “Knedlhof”; from there, turn right again toward “Fohrabauer” to reach “Kneschen.” Then follow the old farm road down to the “Sulzböck” (delicious cider!). Heading toward Türnitz, you’ll enter a romantic gorge leading to the two mills (Imperial and Royal Museum in the Schafluckmühle).
